There are as many nights as days,
and the one is just as long
as the other in the year's course
Even a happy life cannot be without
a measure of darkness,
and happy would surely lose its meaning
were it not balanced by sadness.
The little troubles and worries of life,
so many of which we meet,
may be stumbling blocks in our way,
or we may make them stepping stones to greatness.
It is far better to take things as they come along
with patience and equanimity .
Troubles are often the tools
by which Spirit fashions us for better things.
