WE ARE CHRIST'S FRAGRANCE...

The Bible says we are the aroma (fragrance) of Christ. Let's spread that fragrance around!

2 Corinthians 2:15, : For we are to God the aroma of Christ, among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

Angels...

Psalm 91: 11 "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;"
Hi....
The above scripture has always blessed me & sat down with my study Bible to learn a bit more on Angels & this is what I ended up writing in my journal long back back.
Angels are God's messengers, spiritual beings CREATED BY GOD & NOT TO BE WORSHIPED.
When ever I read this above scripture I find comfort at the thought that one of the function of angels is to guard us believers.
They are sent to minister to us.
Hebrews 1:14 "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
There are angels assigned to watch over little children.
Matthew 18: 10 "See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven."
And these angels always watch the Father's face. So we need to value our kids, each of them are special in God's eyes.
Let kids not be aborted or ignored.
God cares for a child, right when it's formed in it's mothers womb.
Angels proclaim God's message.
MATTHEW 2:13 "When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him."
ACTS 27: 23 "Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me. 24 and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you."
They execute God's judgment.
ACTS 12:23 "Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died"
This happened in the New Testament Days during the time of the early church.
Angels help God's people.
ACTS 5:19 "But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out."
They'll instruct God's people.
ACTS 8:26 "Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza."
They were seen in visions and dreams.
ACTS 10: 3 "One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, "Cornelius!".
Angels are sent to rescue God's people.
ACTS 12:7 "Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists."
So we see that Angels are created heavenly beings with supernatural powers.
THEY ARE NOT TO BE WORSHIPED AS THEY ARE GOD'S SERVANTS..(THEY SERVE GOD LIKE US!)
Angels are not always visible but on some occasions they are.
The truths of the BIBLE do not change.
OUR GOD IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOR EVER.
LUKE 2: 9 "An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified."
NUMBERS 22: 31 :Then the LORD opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell face down."
If in the Old and New testament days, God sent these ministering angels to minister, to watch, to proclaim HIS news,  to execute judgment, to help and rescue HIS children, to instruct His children, won't they be sent even today to do these jobs?
Just the thought that God's assigned angels to guard our ways and bear us in their hands should comfort us.
PSALM 91:

11 For he will command his angels concerning you

       to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
In 1 kings we read how God sent an angel to feed Elijah.

1 KINGS 19:5 Then he lay down under the tree and fell asleep.

All at once an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat." 6 He looked around, and there by his head was a cake of bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.

7 The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, "Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you." 8 So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.

By this food Elijah was strengthened to travel a distance of about 200 miles. He traveled without food for the next 40 days.

In the Book of Daniel God sent an Angel to shut the Lions mouths.
DANIEL 6:22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."
Today too if God wants God can send HIS angels to minister to us!

In Jason Upton's Album "REMEMBER" there's a song called "FLY". In this song we can hear some angelic voice sing with him. This is what Jason says about this song...
There is no explanation for the last song, Fly, except  that during the "do you see what I see" portion you will hear a soaring voice over the top of the other voices (6 minutes and 11 seconds into this section). At first we thought it was an ambient microphone picking up an overtone. During mixing all of the channels were searched and we found that this 'boys choir' type voice was  not on any of the other microphones, but was bleeding through my own microphone ( which would make it impossible for it to be an overtone because it was not present on any of the other  microphones). If you listen carefully you will hear it again later in this section; it's not quite as clear because, unfortunately, my voice is prominent on that microphone. Interestingly, a boy came up to me that night and told me that he saw  an angel standing about fifteen feet behind me.and another one behind our drummer. At the time I doubted that; but after hearing the 'voice' alone during the mixing process with no other instruments around it, I do not doubt it anymore. It was very humbling and convicting for me to realize that I had not believed the boy. I sometimes wrestle with why I so often disbelieve the supernatural (why would I first think it was something natural like an overtone, instead of believing it was an angel). The Bible tells us that we should not be surprised by angelic visitations; but I must admit, I was surprised!
Be Blessed,
YSIC,
Julia
