A Prayer for September

 

Cooler nights & crisper days, that's what Autumn brings. As Golden leaves crunch beneath our footsteps, Holy God, remind us that this is time for letting go. Help us drop our grudges, hurts and sorrows as the lordly maple drops it's flaming leaves. Bless us as we shed which is no longer needed. From "Guideposts" Blessed September! A

 

Unable to sleep at night?

Unable to sleep at night?

Restless?

Burdened?

Counting sheep doesn't help?

Then the best thing we can do is, pray!

We can start praying for people,nations, situations God brings to our mind.

Let us be available to pray at all times for all things and not ignore the nudging of the Holy Spirit.

There sure is a thin line between giving up and going on, that thin line can be a whisper of prayer by someone for someone on the verge of giving up.

Let's pray for that someone God lays in our hearts tonight.

May be the person on our mind is in the midst of a storm or warfare or in pain or the nation that comes to our mind is in turmoil.

Let us pray till we feel peace within.

Lord...help us not to...

As we walk through this day Lord...help us,,,

~~Not to forget to smile.

~~Not to let bad moments overcome us,.

~~Not to hold bitterness against anybody.

~~Not to just count our years, make our years count.

~~Not to get too busy and lose out on doing things You like.

~~Not to let rude people steal our joy.

~~Not to ever forget how to laugh.

~~Not hesitate to reach out for prayer, we all need it sometimes.

~~Not to let go of hope.

ROMANS 5:3 "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope."

Lord help us be a light than complain about the dark!

In midst of all the pain, heartache, trials and difficulties

 of daily life, Lord help us to cast our burdens on You 

and not to miss out on Your Goodness, Mercy, Love, 

grace that gives strength to finish the day thanking You!

Lord help us to see the light around and be a light than 

complain about the dark!

Prayer Changes Things!

,So often we are faced with situations that are too difficult, problems with no answers, hearts that are too hard, people who are too rebellious to give up harmful habits and addiction and those that too stubborn that they will not listen to good advice or instruction and refuse to be disciplined and some who talk back rudely when we reach out in concern.

What do we do then? 

Time to look up to God or bow before His Holy presence and carry these souls before God in prayer.

Someone wrote: "People may refuse our love, our good advice, reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers." 

SO LETS PRAY!

In this world we will have to face tough situations but we need to pray and God will help us overcome!

In the last days we will confront difficult people but need to pray them through!

 2 Timothy 3:1 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—.."

Prayers will change situations,soften hard-hearts, quieten the restless and break stubborn habits!

Time to look to God!

Coming before God in brokeness through Fasting and Prayer....

✿ 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

It is easy to pray for us, our needs and for anything related to us.

But when was the last time we bowed down in brokenness before God for someone else's salvation, healing or need?

When was the last time we sacrificed something that is precious to us(food/time/activity), to pray for someone else?

 ✿ Ezekiel 22:30: "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none."

Can we be that one person God's looking for to stand in the gap and pray?

Jesus Christ our Lord is our greatest intercessor.

✿ Romans 8:26, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."

~We need to get back to fasting and praying. It's important, that once in a while we shut away work, pleasure, food and seek God's face, pray and feast on His Word.

We can give up food, or choose to sacrifice something we like to do everyday like reading the News paper, watch TV, use the computer & spend more time at Jesus's feet. We need to learn to separate our self from everything else to be with God.

Look around..Satan is on a rampage and at such a time God's looking for sacrificial souls who will join Him in holding these forces of evil back. 

In these days of trials God's looking for people who will stand in the gap and pray.

Let's fast, pray and intercede more than we ever have. We can fast alone, in small groups of two or three or as a family or as a church. Let's get hold of prayer partners (our spouse, friend, mom or just any one who is willing to commit to pray can be our prayer partner) and pray.

Can we be the one God's looking for?

~If one of us can put a thousands to flight...

Two of us can send legions fleeing!

God will speak to those who take time to listen.

✿Esther 4:16," Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish."

All through the Bible we see men and women of God fasted and prayed. Sometime a whole nation or tribe fasted!

✿Judges 20:26," Then the Israelites, all the people, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the LORD. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the LORD."

It was also practiced by the New Testament believers.

✿ Acts 13: 2-3," While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off."

Let us lift up our eyes....

Let us lift up our eyes to God and pray for all things at all times!

▓▒░☆ Psalm 121: 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

    the Maker of heaven and earth.

✿For salvation of loved ones!

✿For restoration of strained relationships.

✿For healing, physical, emotional.

✿To strip the powers of darkness, for our battle is not against flesh and blood but evil forces in heavenly realms.

▓▒░☆ Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes 12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

✿For financial break through.

✿And believe God to bind and rebuke the satanic powers.

✿For those who are mentally oppressed by the enemy.

✿For those under severe depression

✿For the 100's and 1000's held in bondage to pornography, witchcraft & pray for their deliverance.

✿For the out pouring of the Holy Spirit in a mighty way in our city, land and across the Nations of the world.

✿ For World wide revival.

✿For a renewed passion for God and Holiness in our lives.

✿For God to cleanse the society of all evils like corruption, abuse of children and women, lawlessness, cheating etc.

✿For other individual and personal requests....

 So let's make 'Fasting and Praying' our life style!

And finally let's not fast to please men but do it to the Lord.

▓▒░☆ Matthew 6:18 "so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will 

reward you."

All we have is this 'moment'

I may never see tomorrow, there's no written guarantee on that but God willing I may see the new day!

Yesteday has gone, the things that happened today are history and future is not in my hands but in God's.

 I cannot change the past.

All I have just is the present moment and I sure must treat it as my last.

I must use this moment wisely for it soon it will be gone and be lost forever.

Abba Father...

I need Your help to be all that you have calIed me to be.

Fill my heart with Your love and compassion O Lord...

Let me be kind O Lord and my words seasoned with salt.

The unkind things I do or say today may never be undone and harsh word I speak may never be forgotten. 

Lord...I may not have another chance to read Your Word, pray, wite, serve, let me not fail to do that and let me live and walk in awe and fear of Your.

Thank You Lord for giving me this day.

Pray the news....

The daily news has a lot of concerns that need prayer.

A wonderful way to pray is to "Pray the News."

We all either watch the news on TV or get online to read the news or read our newspaper daily and we can pray through the news as we read or watch it. 

Instead of listening to the incessant advertisments every five minutes we can use that time, to pray for the news we just heard.

Let us start praying the news!

God will meet our need.....

When we need something, who do we first go to?

It usually to people around us. It is true family and friends do help us.

But sometimes God places us in situations that our only dependence is God and if we cry out to Him, He will meet our need, because He has promised to do so.

Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

So let out 1st conversation be with God, He is the Best Listener, when we are in need. He sees our every tear and not a sigh goes unnoticed!

He will never reject us our turn His face away from us.

Time to start praying.....!

It is easy to talk about prayer, write about prayer, read about prayer, discuss about it, but the real challenge is to really start praying.

The devil doesn't really care how much we talk on prayer, read about prayer or write about it.

But the moment we kneel down or sit down to pray, he is disturbed!

He tries his best to distract us, disturb us, oppose us to stop us from praying.

For he knows a praying Christian and a God who listens to his prayers can disturb and destroy his dark works and kingdom.

 JAMES 5:16b, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

That's why God wants us to watch and pray at all times for all thing.

So let us stop reasoning and start praying!

Oh yes ! It really does!

Does prayer change your present situation or sudden circumstances?

No, not always,

but it does change the way you look at those events.

Does prayer change your financial future?

No, not always,

but it does change who you look to for meeting your daily needs.

Does prayer change shattered hearts or broken bodies?

No, not always,

but it will change your source of strength and comfort.

Does prayer change your wants and desires?

but it will change your wants into what God desires!

Does prayer change your regrets from the past?

No, not always,

but it will change your hopes for the future!

Does prayer change the people around you?

No, not always,

but it will change you~ the problem isn't always in others.

Does prayer change your life in ways you can't explain?

Oh, yes, always!

And it will change you from the inside out!

So does prayer REALLY change ANYTHING?

Yes! It REALLY does change EVERYTHING !

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed.

I have Holy Spirit power.

The dye has been cast.

I have stepped over the line.

The decision has been made. I am a disciple of His.

I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.

My past is redeemed.

My present makes sense. My future is secure.

I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking,

small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams,

tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap fixing.

I no longer need preeminence, position, promotions, or popularity.

I don’t have to be recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded.

I now live by faith, lean on His presence,

walk by patience, lift by prayer, labor by power.

My face is set. My gait is fast. My mission is clear.

My goal is Heaven. My road is narrow.

My way is rough. My companions few.

My Guide reliable.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured,

lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.

With God’s help I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice,

Shut off, pause, be still to hear God!...

We sure need to pray at all times for all things.

Prayer sure is a heart to heart communication with God! Our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, sure is strengthened by frequent conversations with Him! Even if our prayers are long or short, loud or soft whispers, God listens! Even being silent in His presence or tears shed at His feet are prayers too! Let us not miss talking to our Lord n Savior! 

But sometimes we need to shut off the sounds of the world to hear God clearly. Sometimes there are so...many confusing voices around that we need to go into our closets to hear the voice of truth. 

Matthew 6:6, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Regularly let us take time to shut off and seek His face as never before.

 Mark 6:31 And He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while."

LORD..HELP US TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM ALL OUR BUSY SCHEDULE,TO STOP AND BE REFRESHED, RENEWED, RESTORED BY STAYING STILL IN YOUR PRESENCE AND HEAR YOUR VOICE!

There is power in prayer!

`❀Ephesians 6:18 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Hi....

 So many people pass by us daily, as we walk the streets, do our shopping and others we rub shoulders with when we travel by bus/train.

So many we walk past may be in a need of a miracle or just in the verge of giving up, or just hasn't ever heard about our Savior. The least we can do for these precious souls is whisper a prayer for him/her as led by the Holy Spirit.

 At least we can pray a blessing. We may not know his/her name, Jesus does and He moves on our behalf.

 The other day I was in the car, waiting for Leslie, it was raining and seen this couple with a small child trying to stop a rick but there were empty ricks that passed by but no one willing to take them. (You know how difficult it is to get a rick in Mumbai/Mira road etc)

Then I just whispered a prayer, and in the next few seconds a rick stopped by them and they were in. Praise God! 
Co-incident? 
I believe it was an answer to a simple prayer!

 We may not see all the answers to our prayers down here...

But...

One day in eternity we will know and the answers to these quick prayers.What a joy it will be to hear our Lord say,"He was saved, this one was healed and that one missed an accident because you prayed".

Let not cares and worries of this life discourage us.

Let us stay connected to God in prayer...

The enemy just tries his best to keep us from talking to God..

But let us not stop talking to our Lord Jesus Christ...

Prayer is our life line that keeps us connected to our power source...God!!

Let's keep praying and believing and experiencing, God's love, His power, His peace..and all that He has is for us...
